Restaurateurs Ferdinand und Max Trautwein

Two brothers, a heritage-protected former post house and a restaurant philosophy geared to enjoyment: since 2015 Ferdinand and Max Trautwein have created a magnet for gourmets with their "Gasthaus zur Linde" in Stuttgart-Möhringen. The restaurant is a family business. Their father provides all-round support, their mother is the controller, Maximilian is responsible for marketing and Ferdinand is in complete charge of the cooking.

The brothers learned their trade at starred restaurants: Max at Staufeneck Castle, Ferdinand at the Wielandshöhe under Vincent Klink. And you can tell this by the taste – whether you opt for traditional fried steak with onions (a favourite with the brothers) or sweet bread pudding. By the way, you can also enjoy these Swabian delicacies at the Stuttgart Wine Festival, where the brothers have their own stand. No question: the brothers are true professionals where enjoyment is concerned. And of course they know all about the Stuttgart Region, too...

"We cook in the classic Swabian style using regional ingredients. We adapt old recipes to contemporary cuisine and make a point of utilising all parts of the animal or plant. No waste. The presentation is modern – food should delight not only the palate, but also the eye!"

#tastystuttgart: The Highlights of Ferdinand and Max Trautwein

Favourite lookout point: Santiago-de-Chile-Platz

Max's favourite spot, and still an insider tip: at Santiago-de-Chile-Platz all Stuttgart lies at your feet. This little square in Degerloch with its wonderful view can be ideally combined with a hike along the Vineyard Trail – or with a ride on the "Zacke" funicular railway (station: Haigst). What's more, it's not far from the "Wielandshöhe" restaurant run by our enjoyment ambassador Vincent Klink...

Must see: Stuttgart Television Tower

What do visitors to Stuttgart simply have to see? Without a doubt the Television Tower, says Ferdinand Trautwein! It went into operation on 5th February 1956 – and with a height of 217 m was the prototype for other television towers all over the globe.

Today the Television Tower is Stuttgart's favourite landmark. Enjoy the fantastic views over delicious refreshments in the Panorama Café!
